Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on stretching and strengthening the body with emphasis on core strength. The session will demonstrate how to improve your general fitness and overall well being. Conditioning by means of Pilates builds strength and flexibility simultaneously: developing core strength, improving posture and creating stability. Any other (cardio) sport or daily activity will benefit from Pilates.
About the Event
Yoga is a practice of union. Nothing in the world exists independently, your body and mind are connected as well. This session will be a gentle form of yoga for practitioners of all levels. It will include physical poses (asana practice) that strengthens and stretches our muscles, conscious breathing and mindful relaxation of the tension in the body and the mind. And through mindfulness meditation we will practice bringing our overstimulated mind into the present moment, accepting it as it unfolds and cultivating kindness towards ourselves and others.
* There is a limited number of spaces for this event.
* You can be a team of 1 or 2; register and participate in both classes or partner with someone and you participate in one class and they do the other.
* Items for the session:
- water bottle
- comfy clothes and socks
- A mat will be provided for you; however, you are welcome to bring your own.

Henrica de Jong
Henrica, with over 15 years of experience as a certified Pilates instructor, will lead you through a safe and effective program with a focus on strength, coordination and flexibility. She enjoys teaching Pilates to people of all ages and abilities. Henrica hopes that each individual will challenge themselves to reach their personal best while enjoying the Pilates class. She has taught Pilates in several countries where she has lived. Henrica currently has a studio in Prague 6, Hanspaulka.
Jana Kyriakou has over 20 years experience studying, practicing and teaching movement and body work. Jana is a certified in Hatha yoga, Yin Yoga, Pilates, mindfulness, dance as well as a psychology and yoga based program - Embody Love Movement®. She works with children, teens and adults and on projects bringing yoga, stress-management and psychosocial education to schools and professionals, such as teachers, nurses, doctors and others).. She founded the BeWell Institute, a holistic well-being approach. Jana is a mother of two teenagers who are her greatest teachers.
